Today in History: The Battle of Lexington and Concord, 1775

If I could go travel in time without consequence, I would probably visit a lot of times and places. I know that I would go back to my first birthday, and watch as very tiny me was showed the world for the first time. I would go back to The Battle of Bannockburn, as that was very important for Scottish Independence (and when I say important, I mean it won them their independence), and that is very cool. I would look at some dinosaurs, watch the first moon landing, and the Battle of Fort McHenry, among others. I might even go back to gravedistractions.com and buy some books if I am feeling really wild. But today, this day in particular, as thoughts of time travel run though my head, I feel there is one place I would like to go:

The Battles of Lexington and Concord. April 19, 1775, 240 years ago today. British forces stand on the Lexington Green. On the other side, the Lexington Militia stood, much smaller in numbers, holding their muskets, so very scared. In all of the tension, someone fired. The Shot Heard 'Round The World. Such a legendary gunshot, and we don't even know who fired. The British said the Americans fired, and vise versa.

After that gun fired, and the ball flew, chaos descended on that field. British forces fired at the Americans and we shot back. The Americans scattered, leaving eight of their men dead and ten wounded.

That shot, on that day, was the true start of American freedom. That gunshot that rang in all the corners of the globe changed the course of human history. The reason I want to go back is to find the answer to a very simple question:

Who? Who fired that shot on that fateful day on the Lexington Green 240 years ago? What ran though their mind when they pulled that trigger? Thoughts of freedom or delivering the king's justice? That is why I want to go back. To find answers to questions we cannot answer. That is just one of many, of course. There are endless questions, that without time travel, we can't answer.

Ah well, no use lamenting what you well never have. Maybe. You never know though. You just have to give it time.

Until next time,

On My Phone

I am using Blogger on my phone just to see how well it works. Hopefully, it should work pretty well. I don't place on saying much; I am working on another post on my laptop and want to work on that.

The app seems okay from the small amount I have used it for. It isn't nearly as functional as the website on the computer however, so I will probably just use that. I will still use this, of course. Just not as often.

What, you expected more? Nein, friend, there is no more. So, go drink your Ovaltine. I have work to do.

Until next time,
Cini

Five Night's at Freddy's: The Movie

In my last post, I said I would be doing a post about life. Well, I lied. I am actually talking about Five Nights at Freddy's. Now, as most of my friends and family (and DeviantArt, Wattpad, and Fanfiction.net accounts) know, I am a huge Five Nights at Freddy's fan. I own the trilogy on my computer, and could sit here for hours explaining the story for the game, or some of the many theories on the game. But, alas, that will have to be another day, for today, we are discussing the topic that is on every Five Nights Fan's mind:

Five Nights at Freddy's: The Movie.

Now, when I heard the announcement, I was shocked. The franchise has always been fast-praised in terms of releases, but this is unheard of. The first game has been out for less than a year, and already, they are making a movie about it.

It's (me) not some silly little studio that is doing it, either. The rights to the horror series were picked up by Warner Bros. Yes, you read me right, Warner Bros. themselves. This is politically a huge win for all parties involved. Scott and Warner Bros. get a nice payout, if they do it right, and fans of the franchise get a great movie, again, if they do it right.

The question that remains now is: Are they going to do it right? I hope that the answer is yes. I think if Scott is there every step of the way, then they should be fine. However, video game movies are (in)famous for being bad. Don't get be wrong; I like quite a few of them, but there general reputation has overall been bad. Five Nights has a rich story behind it, with such a potential, but it comes down to who is being the camera. From the list of other movies some of the producers had done, I have hope.

For me, personally, I don't exactly know what I want or expect from this film. They could go in many different directions with this movie story-wise. There is really no telling what they will do. If the writers play the games, understand the story half as well as most fans do, and no one at Warner Bros. is a total idiot, then this movie could be worth my time,

Until next time,

Welcome to Thoughts, Opinions, and Other Dull Things.

The internet is full of places that are undesirable. Whether young or old, there are so corners of this deep, dark web that just are not the greatest to visit.

To you, this may be one of them.

Welcome to Thoughts, Opinions, and Other Dull Things. I am your lovably crazy host, Robert Kannard, although here, I would like to go by my internet handle, Cini Checuk. You can just call me Cini. There is not much to know about me. My career as a middle-school student is drawing to a close. I sometimes play video games or write short stories. I am also an admin on my father's company's blog, Grave Distractions Publications. My father publishes books, as you could probably tell by the name of the blog.

The direction this blog is going to go in is unknown at this point in time. I personally don't have a clue. I like talking to people, so I guess that is what I shall do. I will probably talk about video games, T.V, books, or just my life. I will post as often as I can, hopefully daily, but no promises.

That's it. My next post will be about life. Life and all of it's Charlie Foxtrotinuss (I can make up words.)
